Liturgical Programs

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

To know and acknowledge Jesus as the Way, the Truth and the Life, is at the basis
of the Christian mandate. The RCIA thus prepares both non-Catholic and Catholic
adults, according to each person’s need, to develop and grow in faith. Candidates
prepare for adults’ sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation.

Baptism Preparation

When children are registered for baptism, this program helps the parents and godparents to fully understand the commitment they are making on behalf of their child. They meet with the priest for such preparation; members of the Parish Community are invited to join the preparation team.

First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation

Children seven years of age and older are prepared for the sacraments of
First Reconciliation and First Communion. Youth 16 years of age and over are prepared for Confirmation.

Registration is in September each year.

To complement lessons given in the Parish, parents are provided with study materials to continue the preparation at home.

Marriage Preparation

To assist those preparing for marriage to appreciate the commitment that marriage entails as the basis of the human/divine family, the Archdiocese of Gatineau-Hull offers marriage courses each year.

In conjunction with the courses, the pastor meets with the couples a number of times before the wedding to discuss such issues as communication, background, children, tolerance, love, spirituality and sacramentality of marriage.
